General Information

DO I NEED A BUYER NUMBER? HOW DO I GET ONE?

Every customer needs a number so that we can easily track sales and purchases.
To register, either go to the office and one of our staff will get you signed up for a number or you can register by filling out this form.

You only have to do this once, this number will be assigned to you permanently.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

You can then pay with Credit (with a 3% surcharge), Debit, Cash, Cheque, or E-transfer (office@pbauction.ca).
If you have sold something, we can also deduct your purchase off your sale.

WHAT IS THE SALE ORDER?

Sale order on Saturdays: is Pigs, Sheep, Goats, Horses - starting at 10am

Cattle will then follow, but never start earlier than 11:30am. They sell in the order of: stickered (baby) calves, breeding stock and pairs, Feeders from smallest to largest, and end with slaughter cattle.
Note: order of arrival is taken into consideration with sale order.

In the winter, boxes (chickens, rabbits, misc) will sell inside at ahead of all the livestock. In the Summer, they sell in the outside ring simultaneously, starting at 10am

PRICE FACTORS

There are two different price factors for your bidding that we use.

1) By the Head - This means the bid you are placing is the dollar amount for the animal, and this will be multiplied by the number of animals/lots you take

When we sell by the head - the auctioneer may offer options for how many can be bought at a time vs what is in the ring

a) Gate Run - means highest bidder can take as many from the ring as they want, but it will be the first ones that go through the gate

b) Choice - means the highest bidder can choose the specific animals from the ring they want

If neither of these options are given - then the bid is for ALL animals in the ring

2) By the Pound - means the bid you are making is dollar/lb (shown as cents/100lb).

This is always for the entire weight that was on the scale (ALL animals in the ring)

WHERE DO I GO TO LOAD?

Whether loading or unloading - the guide we give for choosing chutes is:

Chute 1: Best for smaller animals in the barn like pigs, sheep, goats and calves, but your trailer door must be able to slide open

Chute 2: Mostly used for semis - but also useful for animals in vehicles or boxes in the back of trucks.

Chute 3: located around the corner, this is a back-in alley chute, This is best for cattle and horses, and the alternative for if your trailer door only swings open.

Chute 4: is similar to #2, but is rarely used

If you have boxes, just check in at the office first.
Depending on the time of year or the type of sale will
determine which ring they are unloaded into.

For equipment - it will probably be unloaded along the

fenceline to the south. Just check in at the office and
we will help you get that unloaded.
We do have a skid steer available if it is needed.

Boxes & Miscellaneous

Boxes are sold by the lot and choice.

On top of the price you bid, you will be paying a handling fee of 10%, with a $1/box minimum, and a $25/item maximum and GST as applicable.

On top of your bid price, there is a handling fee of $3/head.

When you come to pay, we will also have you fill out a swine manifest as per CFIA regulations for traceability purposes. Take the green load out paper to the staff at the chute, and they will help you load.

Sheep & Goats

Sheep & Goats are sold by the head. Stickered babies will be sold choice.

Horses

On top of what you bid, there is GST and a horse handling fee of $10/head.

Once you have paid, you will need to go see the brand inspector with your invoice - where they will make your a-form (your transport papers to go home from the sale).

Then you can take the green sheet to the chute, and our staff will help you load.

Cattle

Breeding stock, pairs, and baby calves are sold by the head. Stickered calves will be sold choice.
Feeders and Slaughter cattle are sold by the pound.

Equipment

On Equipment Sale days, we sell equipment out in the yard, around the fenceline.

Equipment is pre-lotted - and most items are single items sold individually. There will be some items that are grouped lots that you are buying the whole group, times the number of items in the lot, and others that you can choose to buy more than one lot, again, price times the number of lots you take.

On top of your bid price, there is a 10% buyer’s fee, that has a $5/item minimum and maxes out at $500/item as well as applicable GST.

Once you have paid for your items, you can take the green loading sheet outside, and our staff will help you load.

We understand that some of these can be harder to transport - so we usually give you a week to move equipment off the yard.
