Our story begins on December 8, 1962, when two pioneering families, the Perlichs and the Jurises, came together to establish Picture Butte Auction Mart. Located in the heart of Picture Butte, Alberta, our auction market quickly became a cornerstone of the local livestock community, providing a trusted venue for buying and selling livestock.
In 1967, the Perlich family embarked on a new venture, leaving the Juris family to continue operating the auction mart with the same dedication and commitment to excellence. Under the Juris family's stewardship, Picture Butte Auction Mart flourished for several decades, earning a reputation for integrity, quality service, and a deep connection to the agricultural community.
The year 2001 marked a new chapter as the Dunsbergen family took the helm, bringing fresh energy and innovation to the auction market. For the next 20 years, they maintained the high standards set by their predecessors while adapting to the evolving needs of the livestock industry.
In 2021, Picture Butte Auction Ltd. welcomed its current owners, the deLeeuw and Slingerland families. With a shared passion for agriculture and a commitment to community, the deLeeuws and Slingerlands are dedicated to upholding the legacy of Picture Butte Auction Mart while driving it forward into a new era of growth and opportunity.
